Previous attempts at making a Legend of Zelda movie go as far back as 2007. The now-defunct animation studio, Imagi, created a pitch reel for Nintendo but was rejected. During this time, Nintendo was well known for rejecting movie adaptations of its properties. After 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie. from Illumination proved to be a smash hit critically and financially, Nintendo’s has continued its venture into movie adaptations of its properties, which has excited audiences and fans alike. While it’ll take a while to see any official footage from the movie, fans are generally excited about this new take on this beloved video game franchise.
