Steam Summer Sale 2024 kicks off with massive discounts for all

Summer may be over for us here in the Philippines, but for the Western part of the world, it’s just getting started. We know this not because we looked at the calendar, but because the Steam Summer Sale for 2024 just started – and there are huge discounts on all sorts of games for everyone.

The Steam Summer Sale is a yearly tradition that dates back to 2014 – almost exactly 10 years ago – and is available for anyone who has a working and active account on Steam. There are a few AAA games like Football Manager 2024, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, and Elden Ring headlining the sale, but all types of games are available at much lower prices.

There are so-called Deep Discounts for high-action shooters Arma III and Battlefield 2042, as well as various older games including Civilization VI, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, Assetto Corsa, and Borderlands 2. Some of the more recent games that are available now with huge discounts are Baldur’s Gate, Horizon Forbidden West, Tekken 8, Hogwarts Legacy, Palworld, and FC24.

Meanwhile, a lot of much older games are available for quite cheap now – including classics like the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection, older FIFA games, horror and survival games like Dead by Daylight and Dayz, and even fighting games like Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 11, and Hi-Fi Rush.

Even indie games like Jeepney Simulator 2 are not excluded from the Steam Summer Sale – as that Filipino-made game is currently on sale at 50% off its usual price for only Php 124.79. If you’re looking to add even more games to your PC games backlog, now would be one of the best times to do so.
