This month, the Esports World Cup Foundation and leading smartphone brand Honor announced a one-of-a-kind partnership for the year’s largest gaming festival in Saudi Arabia called the Esports World Cup (EWC). With this move, the upcoming Honor 200 Pro smartphone has been designated as the official smartphone of the EWC, offering what is said to be “cutting-edge technology to power esports competitions” in games such as Honor of Kings, Free Fire, and Women’s ML:BB.

The Honor 200 Pro is a new premium smartphone that’s built not just for esports athletes but for casual players alike. Some of its highlight features include a high-speed 3GHz CPU with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a beefy 5200mAh Silicon-Carbon battery that should last up to 60+ hours of continuous use, and advanced cooling through a larger built-in vapor chamber.

According to Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, Honor’s new phone is an exceptional choice for all pros in the most demanding mobile games. “EWC athletes demand the absolute best in gaming technology, as it is essential for maintaining competitive integrity and delivering an unparalleled experience,” he said. “The HONOR 200 Pro is an exceptional smartphone, equipped with cutting-edge technology that surpasses the high standards set by EWC athletes. We are eager to witness its incredible performance this summer in Riyadh.”

On the other hand, Honor CMO Dr. Ray, said that they are pleased to be a partner for the EWC. “As a brand dedicated to its consumers, HONOR strives to offer products that provide a superior experience and elevated performance, particularly among gamers. Our technology enables players to push their limits and achieve new heights in their gaming journey,” said Ray. “We look forward to seeing the HONOR 200 Pro power the best esports athletes in the world as they strive for international greatness at the Esports World Cup.”

The EWC 2024 began on July 3rd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and features 22 game championships for a share of over $60 million in prizes – said to be te largest in esports history. The event will last for a total of eight weeks, or up to August 24th, with various other events including pop culture celebrations, international experiences, and community tournaments.

Meanwhile, the Honor 200 Pro smartphone is set to be officially announced and subsequently released in the Philippines and other regional markets in the next few weeks.
