Honkai: Star Rail 2.7, titled “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn,” will be released on December 4. With the journey in Penacony coming to a close, a new story is set to unfold, featuring the debut of two new playable characters, Sunday and Fugue. In addition to these characters and storylines, Version 2.7 also offers Trailblazers a range of immersive experiences to enjoy.
One Last Stop Before We Go
Before the Crew ventures to Amphoreus, they make a final stop in Penacony, reuniting with old friends and creating lasting memories before embarking on their next journey.
The memories of that ‘performance’ at the Penacony Grand Theater are as vivid as if they happened yesterday. It’s not just the Astral Express or Penacony that’s awakened from its dream—Sunday has, too. Having stepped down as head of the Oak Family, he has chosen to “descend to the mortal realm and see what this world is truly like.” Casting aside blessings from both Harmony and Order, Sunday sets out to pursue his vision of a utopia as a mere mortal. With the help of a secret Pepeshi named Wonweek, he returns to Penacony with one wish—to give a final, unforgettable performance before beginning his new journey. His robe and hood provide a fresh appearance and conceal his identity for his last dance in the “Planet of Festivities.”
The New 5 Star Characters
Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 introduces two exciting new 5-star characters: Sunday and Fugue.
- Sunday’s banner runs from December 3 to December 25, 2024. His Skill allows teammates to immediately take action while increasing their DMG dealt. If the teammate has a summon, both can immediately take action, and the DMG Boost effect is even more evident. Using Sunday’s Ultimate can regenerate Energy for one teammate, as well as causing the character and their summon to be blessed with “The Beatified.” A halo will appear on “The Beatified” teammate, boosting their CRIT DMG. Additionally, the limited 5-star character, General Jing Yuan, will rerun alongside him
- Fugue’s banner will be available from December 25, 2024, to January 14, 2025. Fugue is a 5-star Fire character with an affinity with support one teammate in reducing enemies’ Toughness regardless of Weakness Type. When Fugue is in combat, enemy targets will be inflicted with the “Cloudflame Luster” effect. When “Cloudflame Luster” is reduced to 0, the target will take Weakness Break DMG again. Furthermore, when teammates attack Weakness Broken enemy targets, they will also deal Super Break DMG. Not only that, through her Skill, Fugue can increase ally characters’ Break Effects. When she uses her Ultimate, she deals Fire DMG to all enemies regardless of Weakness Type and directly reduces all enemies’ Toughness. Additionally, Firefly’s banner will rerun at the same period.
Fans can expect exciting new content in Version 3.0. In Phase 1 (January 14 – February 5, 2025), Herta, an Erudition Ice character, will join the roster. Then, in Phase 2 (February 5 – February 25, 2025), Aglaea, a Remembrance Lightning character, will be available.
Welcome to the Party Car
Version 2.7 also unveils the Party Car aboard the Astral Express, offering a relaxing new area for players to explore. The sleek marble bar and classic bartending robot create a refined atmosphere where players can unwind with the Express Crew. The backdrop of the Cosmos adds a sense of wonder as players reflect by the window or socialize.
For a more personal touch, players can transform the Trailblazer’s quarters into a cozy retreat. In the “Cosmic Home Décor Guide” event, they’ll decorate an empty room with furniture earned through Express Funds, crafting a space that mirrors their cosmic journey.
Version 3.0 and beyond
As Version 3.0 looms, players will encounter the Path of Remembrance, featuring characters who summon memosprites—companions with unique battle abilities. This new system promises to enhance the strategic depth of every encounter.
Additionally, the Relic system will see an overhaul. Players will now be able to select both the Main Stat and Subsidiary Stats of a Relic during synthesis using specialized tools like Wishful Resin and Self-Modeling Resin.
